The location of the Jewish community in this village is very interesting. It is situated in the middle of the village next to the pond and opposite the castle.
Some of the original houses remained some were damaged or rebuilded.
The synagogue was rebuilded in 1945 and used by the firemen. Nowadays is not in use and you can see the original windows under the falling fasade.
The Jewish cemetery was built on the edge of the village. It is situated on the hill above the pond and the original entrance was from the other side. This placed is surrounded by beautiful nature and the cemetery itself survived because of its hidden position. If you take a closer look you can find several tombstones from various periods. There are also some remainds of the surrounding wall and it is possible to see the foundation of the ceremonial house.
The village was established in the 12th century during the setlement of Kladruby closter.
There were many nobels families e.g. Lords of Ricany who privilleged the village to the town in 1545.
The St.Ann´s church you can find on the hill on the edge of the village. It was built in the 14th century but its nowadays appeareance is baroque.
The castle remained only in the baroque style from the 18th century. It is situated in the middle of the village by the pond.
